About Milestone Recovery
Adults of any gender who are residents of Maine, including people who have no insurance, can be admitted at Milestone Recovery, a detox center in Portland. They don’t offer an outpatient program or an adolescent program. Outreach and an emergency shelter sit alongside detox, and staff include people who have been in recovery.
How long is detox in Portland?
Milestone runs a 3 to 7 day program of medically supervised withdrawal management (care that watches your body while use stops). Admissions run from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.
Where can care go after detox?
Milestone offers a 30 day residential program in Portland, and it’s for adults of all genders. A men’s program is in Old Orchard Beach, not Portland. If residential care follows, you live at the program for the first weeks of treatment.
People aren’t refused care because they cannot pay. For more than 55 years, the center has served Maine residents who have a substance use disorder and are experiencing homelessness.
