About RJ Blackley Alcohol and Drug Abuse Treatment Center – Closed

Closed

R.J. Blackley Alcohol and Drug Abuse Treatment Center was a secure 54 bed inpatient facility in Butner, North Carolina. They provided empathetic care for children, adolescents and young adults experiencing addiction, mental health conditions or developmental disabilities. A referral from your child’s doctor was required to access services.

They didn’t offer withdrawal management services but may have been able to refer clients to a detox facility. Crisis stabilization services were available to help youth manage their emotions and stressful situations effectively.

Specialized Care by Age Group

As one of the only facilities of its kind in North Carolina, they offered four targeted units for youth aged 12 to 24. Clients could access personalized treatment among others in their same age range.

Emphasis on Holistic Healing

What stood out most to me was their whole person approach. Your teen could participate in multiple activities and experiential therapies to support their overall wellness. They incorporated holistic practices, including yoga, exercise and pastoral services into treatment.

Your child can also participate in music, art and recreational therapy. They’ll benefit from a comprehensive approach that helps them gain the tools for lasting recovery.

Recovery in Butner

While your child would spend most of their time in the facility, Butner offered a calming environment to focus on recovery. Situated in a quiet rural setting, R.J. Blackley Alcohol and Drug Abuse Treatment Center was surrounded by wooded and residential areas. Your child could take in nature’s healing powers while working on their recovery.
