About Toxicology Associates Inc

About Toxicology Associates Inc
Situated in Corpus Christi, Texas, Toxicology Associates Inc. specializes in helping individuals recover from the harrowing effects of opiate addiction. With Corpus Christi being a coastal region, our facility enjoys the subtropical climate conditions and mild winters of the region.
Since 1980, Toxicology Associates Inc has serviced the Houston and Gulf Coast area, helping people detox from opiate abuse and create the types of lifestyles that make drug-free living a reality. Our staff are licensed professionals who are dedicated to meeting you where you’re at in the recovery process and supporting your efforts to get well.
Toxicology Associates runs both a detox and a methadone maintenance program, which enables us to address the different types of issues and challenges that develop during the course of recovery. If you’ve been struggling with opiate addiction for months or years at a time, Toxicology Associates Inc is here to help.
Treatment Options
Opiate drugs carry a high addictive potential with physical and psychological dependencies growing stronger with each successive day of use. Opiates alter major systems in the brain and body, leaving the body unable to function normally without the drug’s effects. These effects make it that much easier to relapse even after completing standardized detox treatment.
Toxicology Associates Inc. uses methadone, a federally approved opiate addiction treatment medication, to help stabilize the brain and body’s systems. In the process, methadone’s effects provide ample relief from uncomfortable withdrawal effects and cravings while at the same time helping you feel “normal” again, both physically and emotionally.
Our methadone program combines the drug’s therapeutic effects with behavior-based treatment interventions, which help you break out of the addiction mindset and develop healthy, daily-living skills. Behavior-based interventions used include:

Personalized treatment plan
Daily administration of methadone doses
Support groups
One-on-one psychotherapy
Group therapy sessions

Amenities
Months or years of opiate abuse not only changes how the brain and body works, but also changes your thinking, behaviors and daily routine. Before long, the need to get and use the drug has created a whole new way of life. At this point, breaking the addiction problem has as much to do with stopping drug use as it does changing the way the mind thinks. For these reasons, overcoming an addiction problem entails developing a completely different lifestyle.
Amenities offered through Toxicology Associates Inc. are designed to help you work through the challenges that arise as you take steps towards establishing a drug-free way of life. For some people, this may entail bringing family members into the treatment process if the home environment is unhealthy. For others, mental health issues, such as depression or anxiety disorders may require treatment.
Amenities included with our detox treatment program include:

Counseling for anger management
Relapse prevention training
Motivational therapies
Drug education and counseling

Policies
Since methadone is a highly controlled substance and treatment protocols differ between adults and adolescents, Toxicology Associates Inc only treats women and men, aged 18 and older. As with most any type of methadone program, patients must frequent the facility on a daily basis to receive their methadone dose, which must be taken everyday.  After you’ve made ongoing progress in the program, take-home doses may be given out.
Other program policies include:

No alcohol or drugs permitted on the facility grounds
Smoking is only permitted in designated areas
Must receive pre-approval before family members or friends can attend treatment sessions

Opiate addiction recovery is a process that starts with stopping drug-using behaviors. The supports offered by Toxicology Associates Inc make it possible to successfully complete the detox stage and take steps towards developing a purposeful, healthy life.
