About Alcohol And Drug Services – Ads

Alcohol and Drug Services (ADS) provides treatment for adults struggling with an opioid use disorder in Greensboro, North Carolina. They’re pretty close to Latham Park Greenway and have been around since 1971. Their main priority is pregnant women. The organization is CARF-accredited.

They do accept health insurance such as Medicare, Medicaid and Veterans Administration. If you’re uninsured, they do offer a discounted sliding fee scale that is based on your household size and income.

Their opioid treatment program utilizes medication assisted treatment (MAT). As a leading medically approved opioid replacement therapy, Methadone is used to treat the dependency of opioids. The medication is approved by the FDA to help provide you with some relief of the painful opioid withdrawal symptoms. This is not a stand alone service. You will be required to attend counseling.

As the main treatment program modality, you will be attending group therapy. I like how they offer group sessions at different times throughout the day. This provides you with a variety of choices so that you can best accommodate your treatment schedule and personal responsibilities. You will also attend individual therapy. During that time, you will meet with your primary counselor to discuss your treatment goals and any other issues that may be affecting your recovery.

I like that you will undergo random urinalysis drug screenings. These screenings will help keep you accountable and also measure your success. You’ll be able to monitor your progress as you work towards your goal of a substance free lifestyle.

An interesting fact is that the organization is partnered with the Amazon Smile charitable program. The program helps them receive funding to their programs and services, as they are a non-profit. They also have many outreach programs for schools and community organizations to discourage kids from starting drugs before it’s too late.
