Bellevue Hospital Center’s Methadone Maintenance Treatment Program is an outpatient addiction treatment service in the Kips Bay neighborhood of Manhattan, New York. As part of the oldest public hospital in the United States, Bellevue serves all patients regardless of immigration status or ability to pay.

Specialized Programs and Accessibility

The program serves adults, including pregnant and postpartum women, with specialized services for persons living with HIV/AIDS. Gender specific programs are tailored to meet the unique needs of men and women, and accessible treatment includes sign language interpretation and adapted communication methods.

Bellevue accepts Medicare, Medicaid, private health insurance, state financed plans, and cash or self payment. A sliding fee scale based on income and payment assistance are available for eligible clients.

Inpatient and Outpatient Detox

The program provides outpatient medication assisted treatment using methadone, buprenorphine, and naltrexone for opioid and alcohol use disorders. Individual and group counseling, relapse prevention, and medically supervised detoxification services for alcohol, benzodiazepines, and opioids are offered in both inpatient and outpatient settings.

Additional supports include trauma counseling, anger management, nicotine cessation, and help with social services such as job training and housing.
