About Bronx TASC

The mission of Bronx TASC is two fold: to reduce crime and incarceration rates and to provide life changing substance abuse care. They work toward these goals to specifically address the link between criminal behaviors and substance use by providing care to non violent offenders as an Alternative to Incarceration program. They provide highly customized and targeted care based on each individual’s needs, which may include detoxification and MAT if needed.

Drawing on Inner Strength

The case management services they provide are backed by Motivational Interviewing. MI is a therapeutic approach that guides clients to discover their own reasons for wanting to make changes in their lives and uses those as a benchmark for treatment progress. It works for many because it gives them concrete goals to work toward beyond “getting clean” and provides another way to track success in treatment and recovery.

Built Around Your Needs

Where this program really shines is in how accommodating it is to the diverse backgrounds of those it helps. People leaving the justice system often face forms of uncertainty or instability, such as lacking a safe shelter for themselves. Staff here work with community partners to secure everything you need to safely participate in recovery and still take care of your basic needs. The extra layer of support reduces the risk of relapse and reoffending.
