About Goddard Riverside The Baxter

Goddard Riverside is a social services organization offering more than 30 support and treatment programs in New York City, New York. Programs include supportive housing, behavioral health treatment, and assistance for individuals with co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders.

The organization has a 74 bed safe house, The Baxter, which offers transitional housing to unhoused single adults. Clients in the house receive multiple services, including behavioral health and drug counseling services. The house is a city contracted facility and provides harm reduction services for free through the Department of Homeless Services.

Please note that the house does not provide detoxification services, but the staff can refer you to the appropriate place. Their IMT team offers mobile care to folks who can’t make it to the center. Psychiatric assessments and medications are available if needed.

Safe Housing

This safe shelter for single unhoused adults offers medical and mental health treatment. While in the house, you’ll receive three nutritious meals daily.

There are community spaces, a laundry room, and outdoor recreation areas. While living in the house, you’ll work toward a permanent housing situation.

Wraparound Services

The organization offers wraparound services. You’ll get housing voucher assistance, entitlement assistance, and help connecting with other supportive services. Case managers are available, and if you’re looking to reconnect with family members, they can assist.
