About CompDrug
CompDrug has delivered evidence-based mental health and substance use treatment to Columbus residents in Ohio for over 40 years. Their services cut across gender-appropriate outpatient therapy, drug testing, and several prevention services for youths and adults. They also provide early HIV intervention alongside specialized recovery programs for pregnant and parenting women.
CompDrug operates across five convenient locations in Columbus, including an opioid recovery clinic north of the Ohio Statehouse and Goodale Park. This facility provides medication assisted treatment (MAT). They promote maternal and infant outcomes and family stability while reducing the effects of Neonatal Abstinence Syndrome (NAS) and Neonatal Opioid Withdrawal Syndrome(NOWS).
Guest dosing services are available for individuals visiting the area and are currently enrolled in another MAT clinic. They even provide emergency dosing. CompDrug ensures accessible care with coverages accepted via Medicaid, Medicare & Medicare Advantage and several commercial health insurances.
Income-based sliding fee scale or ADAMH funding is available for eligible Franklin County residents without Medicaid. It’s also great that their program supports take-home dosing. They accept walk-ins and you may even start dosing same-day if clinically appropriate.
Medication-Supported Opioid Recovery
MAT is an evidence-based technique that uses FDA-approved medications in conjunction with counseling to support long-term healing. CompDrug uses methadone, Suboxone, Vivitrol and Sublocade to ease cravings and withdrawal symptoms.
Outpatient therapy at CompDrug utilizes proven methods like dialectical behavior therapy (DBT) and motivational interviewing (MI) to develop effective strategies for relapse prevention. Psychiatric care and medication management may be integrated to address underlying issues. Individuals requiring a higher level of care are referred to CompDrug’s Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP).
Random urinalysis testing helps assess the effectiveness of your treatment. You’ll have access to a case manager to address housing, employment and educational needs. They also provide referrals to self-help groups to strengthen your support network and keep you on track.
