About GMC Detox Unit Detox and Rehabilitation Services
GMC Detox Unit Detox and Rehabilitation Services was an addiction treatment center that is now closed. Based in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, it used to offer care to adults, with a particular focus on vulnerable populations and homeless individuals.
They were acquired by The Behavioral Wellness Center at Girard and are now at a different location.
At The Forefront of Innovative Care
The center had long pioneered mental health and addiction treatment services, as it was partnered with the City of Philadelphia in a mission to serve its residents. Care was also available to individuals imprisoned or in legal custody due to substance misuse through various targeted initiatives, like the various Forensic Intensive Recovery (FIR) programs, which allowed convicts to be released from jail, directly into care.
Residential offshoot treatment programs were also created to support homeless men, with the impact being a significant reduction in homelessness among men, as well as support for untreated behavioral issues within this population.
