About Winslow Indian Health Care Center

The Winslow Indian Health Care Center (WIHCC) is in Winslow, Arizona. The health center offers outpatient medical, mental health, and substance misuse treatment services for Native Americans, most of whom are Navajo Indians. The center serves eight chapters of the Navajo Nation, including the border town of Winslow.

The organization is accredited by The Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care, Inc. The facility is conveniently located near major roadways. Although the center doesn’t provide inpatient care for drug abuse, the physicians can refer clients to the Dilkon Medical Center for detoxification and emergency services, such as a mental health or substance related crisis, as well as further referrals to addiction treatment programs.

Culturally Sensitive Treatment Services

The treatment staff offers culturally sensitive care for Navajo Indians and other tribal members. They have addiction counseling services in English and Navajo. The clinicians treat most types of mental health issues, including cutting and self-harm, bullying, work stress, anxiety and physical and sexual abuse.

Using a Family Medicine Treatment Model

The health center operates on a family medicine model. They provide multiple medical and mental health care services for Native Americans, their dependents and beneficiaries. The clinicians embrace all individuals as their family and work to develop long term patient-provider relationships.
