About New Life for Girls
New Life for Girls is a non-profit Christian residential discipleship program providing free or low-cost, long-term recovery for women on a 27-acre campus near Dover, Pennsylvania.
The program as founded in 1972 and serves women aged 18+ overcoming life controlling issues like addiction, abuse and incarceration through a structured, faith based model. With Pennsylvania facing high rates of substance-related deaths, the mission is to offer a transformative path to healing to restore self-worth and prepare residents to re-enter society as capable women.
Christian Residential Discipleship for Women
New Life for Girls offers a multi-phase, 24 hour residential program centered on Christian discipleship and personal transformation for women. The experienced, donation funded ministry provides a secure, structured home for over 60 women and children, guiding them from initial stabilization through to successful re-entry.
The progressive phases move from detox support and routine establishment to deeper counseling, vocational training, and spiritual growth within a daily framework of chapel, Bible study, and work ethics. This holistic approach addresses the root relational and spiritual wounds behind addiction and trauma with former residents describing profound, life changing healing and regained identity.
Healing for Mothers and Children
A distinctive offering is the secure housing for mothers alongside their children to allow families to heal together. The program integrates parenting support within its nurturing environment, ensuring women recovering from domestic abuse, sexual trauma or incarceration can rebuild their lives without separation from their kids.

This 24-hour residential program operates from its main campus in Dover, serving women from across the region. They’re a donation-supported ministry with no government funding so there is no charge for the stay beyond a small, scaled entrance fee based on ability to pay.

Levels of Care

Inpatient
Inpatient and residential programs provide round-the-clock medical and emotional support as you live at the treatment facility. This level of care may be recommended if you have severe addictions or mental health conditions since it removes outside distractions and allows you to focus solely on therapy.

Outpatient
In outpatient therapy, you’ll attend therapy sessions several times each week while living at home. This is ideal if you have a strong support system and a lower risk of relapse. Outpatient treatment offers flexibility to maintain work, school or family obligations.

Dual Diagnosis
Dual diagnosis programs address substance use disorders and co-occurring mental health conditions simultaneously. This integrated approach to care improves the likelihood of long term recovery and stability by addressing the root causes of addiction.

Aftercare programs provide ongoing support after you complete a rehab program. Inpatient detox occurs in a dedicated treatment facility. You’ll live there around the clock and receive intensive medical support and supervision to help manage your withdrawal symptoms. It is suitable for individuals with moderate to severe addictions as it ensures a stable detox environment.

Outpatient Detox
Outpatient detox gives you access to medically supervised withdrawal services while still allowing you to live at home. You’ll attend a clinic for treatment and monitoring. This flexible option is suitable for those with mild to moderate withdrawal symptoms who have strong support systems.
