About Operation PAR 66th Street
Operation PAR’s 66th Street center is in Pinellas Park, Florida, just 20 miles southwest of Tampa. Since 1970, this organization has provided mental health and addiction services for adults, youth, and families throughout various counties in the West Central Florida region.
You can access inpatient medical detox at Highpoint Campus, their Clearwater location. Medication assisted treatment (MAT) is also available at many of their locations.
Many start recovery in detox before transitioning to another level of care. Their program offers ongoing support and monitoring to reach stabilization safely. They provide physical health screenings, psychosocial assessments, group and individual therapy, and medications.
Prevention Services
What stands out most to me is their prevention services. Adults and adolescents can access resources and education for early intervention and to gain awareness about the effects of addiction and mental health conditions. Addiction prevention workshops, parenting education and training, life skills training, and school based prevention are available.
Educational Services at PAR
Another thing that caught my eye was their educational and vocational services. They provide onsite vocational and high school classes in their residential program. You’ll benefit from furthering your education and gaining skills to secure a fulfilling career. That way, you can create a solid foundation for recovery.
Medication Assisted Treatment for Floridans
I think it’s great that PAR offers MAT. This approach provides a blend of FDA-approved Vivitrol, buprenorphine, or methadone, and behavioral therapies. These medications can help alleviate cravings and withdrawal symptoms that can hinder recovery.
Their program provides a personalized approach with an in depth behavioral analysis, physical exam, counseling, and coaching. They also have specialized MAT options for pregnant women.
Levels of Care
-
Inpatient
Inpatient and residential programs provide round-the-clock medical and emotional support as you live at the treatment facility. This level of care may be recommended if you have severe addictions or mental health conditions since it removes outside distractions and allows you to focus solely on therapy.
-
Outpatient
In outpatient therapy, you’ll attend therapy sessions several times each week while living at home. This is ideal if you have a strong support system and a lower risk of relapse. Outpatient treatment offers flexibility to maintain work, school or family obligations.
Detox Service Setting
-
Inpatient Detox
Inpatient detox occurs in a dedicated treatment facility. You’ll live there around the clock and receive intensive medical support and supervision to help manage your withdrawal symptoms. It is suitable for individuals with moderate to severe addictions as it ensures a stable detox environment.
-
Outpatient Detox
Outpatient detox gives you access to medically supervised withdrawal services while still allowing you to live at home. You’ll attend a clinic for treatment and monitoring. This flexible option is suitable for those with mild to moderate withdrawal symptoms who have strong support systems.
Programs
-
Alcohol Detox
Alcohol detox programs offer medical support to help individuals withdraw safely from alcohol. Your care team may use medications to ease your symptoms and provide medical monitoring to address complications.
-
Drug Detox
Drug detox programs support individuals who are withdrawing from addictive substances like cocaine and heroin. Medical support helps you manage symptoms in a controlled and safe environment so you can achieve initial sobriety.
