About RECAP Inc
RECAP – Regional Economic Community Action Program is a nonprofit anti-poverty agency serving Orange County’s residents. They are based in Middletown, New York, and offer services to the most vulnerable populations. They provide medication assisted treatment (MAT) in outpatient and residential programs. RECAP accepts Medicaid and many Medicaid managed care plans. They don’t deny anyone access if they can’t pay.
Residential Treatment in Middletown
New Life Manor is RECAP’s residential facility. If you’ve been in recovery for 30 days or more, you may be admitted. Clients are referred to this program from hospitals, the criminal justice system or licensed OASAS providers. After a screening call, clients are admitted to the program.
New Life Manor is a smoke-free facility with 24 beds. I like that it’s staffed 24/7 and provides transportation to community meetings.
They support and offer medication assisted treatment (MAT) using Vivitrol, Suboxone and naltrexone. I appreciate that they offer multiple medication options so clients can get the best fit for their needs and circumstances. Staff include trained counselors and a residence manager.
In addition to MAT, clients get individual and group counseling, support to explore vocational opportunities, and access to healthy leisure activities. I think it’s great that they offer community service opportunities as well.
Outpatient Day Treatment for New Yorkers
RECAP’s TRUST center offers MAT, day programs and other support to folks dealing with substance use disorders. I really appreciate that they offer holistic treatments like acupuncture, yoga and meditation. During outpatient treatment you’ll learn how to identify triggers and prevent relapse. MAT will allow you to turn down the intensity and frequency of cravings so you can focus on the mental work of recovery.
I appreciate that their day program provides lunch for participants. They also offer a dual diagnosis treatment for those with co-occuring mental health disorders. They run gender specific groups, HIV testing and crisis intervention. Outpatient staff include counselors, physicians and registered nurses.
