About Desert Mountain Health

Desert Mountain Health in Scottsdale, Arizona offers a range of different treatment services for addiction. The center specializes in inpatient detox treatment and provides comforting amenities such as lounging areas, tailored meals, and healthy snacks.

Inpatient detox is medically supervised and reduces withdrawals and risks associated with withdrawals. Detoxification uses a combination of medication, healthy foods, fluids, and rest.

You can rest peacefully in your quiet, confidential room while knowing you are in professional hands. Medications and continuous supervision ensure that you will detox safely and be ready to begin treatment.

Residential Treatment for Substance Use

During residential treatment, you will continue to receive medication assisted treatment (MAT). Professional staff includes a forensic psychiatrist, a physician’s assistant, and a family physician.

Dual diagnoses are treated concurrently. If your mental health illness is caused by substance use, it will disappear during abstinence and sobriety. If the mental illness has caused the substance use, you will need to stay on psychiatric medications indefinitely.

Therapies and Addiction Services

In addition to medications, you will attend counseling and therapy. Individual therapy uses eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR) to treat PTSD and cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) to process and understand traumatizing events.

Hypnotherapy here will help you subconsciously reverse negative responses, thoughts, attitudes, behaviors, and feelings to positive ones. Life coaching will help you improve your life situation through learning how to build a resume, interview, look for a job, and other topics such as managing money.

Group therapy allows you to have discussions with peers who are experiencing similar circumstances. You and your peers will work through a staying sober workbook and listen to special guests who are experts on addiction, co-occurring disorders, and medications.

Your family can participate in your recovery by utilizing the family program. They will learn about mental health disorders and aftercare planning. The facility does not prescribe controlled medications to clients who are being discharged.

Levels of Care

  • Inpatient

Inpatient and residential programs provide round-the-clock medical and emotional support as you live at the treatment facility. This level of care may be recommended if you have severe addictions or mental health conditions since it removes outside distractions and allows you to focus solely on therapy.

  • Outpatient

In outpatient therapy, you’ll attend therapy sessions several times each week while living at home. This is ideal if you have a strong support system and a lower risk of relapse. Outpatient treatment offers flexibility to maintain work, school or family obligations.

  • Aftercare

Aftercare programs provide ongoing support after you complete a rehab program. They may include several components to help you maintain sobriety including therapy, community support groups and relapse prevention strategies. This gives you a network of resources as you reintegrate into your daily life.

  • Dual Diagnosis

Dual diagnosis programs address substance use disorders and co-occurring mental health conditions simultaneously. This integrated approach to care improves the likelihood of long term recovery and stability by addressing the root causes of addiction.

Detox Service Setting

  • Inpatient Detox

Inpatient detox occurs in a dedicated treatment facility. You’ll live there around the clock and receive intensive medical support and supervision to help manage your withdrawal symptoms. It is suitable for individuals with moderate to severe addictions as it ensures a stable detox environment.

  • Outpatient Detox

Outpatient detox gives you access to medically supervised withdrawal services while still allowing you to live at home. You’ll attend a clinic for treatment and monitoring. This flexible option is suitable for those with mild to moderate withdrawal symptoms who have strong support systems.

  • Drug Detox

Drug detox programs support individuals who are withdrawing from addictive substances like cocaine and heroin. Medical support helps you manage symptoms in a controlled and safe environment so you can achieve initial sobriety.

  • EMDR Therapy

EMDR stands for eye movement desensitization and reprocessing therapy. It helps you process traumatic memories that may underlie addiction. You’ll learn how to reduce emotional distress and begin healing from past events. This makes it effective for trauma related addiction causes.
