Brooklyn Hospital Center 9B Detox Unit is a licensed hospital based medically managed detox program located on the 9th floor of Brooklyn’s oldest hospital, serving individuals throughout the New York metropolitan area since 1845. They are a 464 bed teaching hospital affiliated with Mount Sinai.

Detox in a Clinical Hospital Environment

The 9B Detox Unit specializes in hospital inpatient detox for clients with significant substance dependence requiring medical supervision during withdrawal. As a SAMHSA certified Opioid Treatment Program, the unit offers pharmacotherapy including methadone maintenance, and buprenorphine maintenance.

A Highly Accredited Treatment Center

Treatment integrates Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, and trauma counseling with individual, group, and family sessions. Patients receive nursing supervision, medication management, and relapse prevention support to safely stabilize and prepare for ongoing recovery.

This approach addresses both physical dependence and psychological aspects of addiction through contingency management, 12-step facilitation, and nicotine replacement therapy.

Accredited by The Joint Commission, CARF, and licensed by the New York State Office of Alcoholism and Substance Abuse Services, the hospital provides transitional services including discharge planning and recovery coaching. Medicare, Medicaid, private insurance, TRICARE, and payment assistance are accepted.
