About Daytop Village Inc
Daytop Village is an organization dedicated to improving the lives of New Yorkers experiencing challenging situations. The organization has facilities throughout New York, including in Huntington Station, a hamlet on Long Island’s North Shore in Suffolk County.
The Huntington Station location offers outpatient addiction and mental health services, including medication assisted treatment (MAT) for detox and maintenance. The staff offers services to adolescents and adults.
They accept private health insurance, Medicare, Medicaid and federal military insurance such as TRICARE. They have an income based sliding fee scale for eligible clients.
Serving a Diverse Clientele
The programs serve a diverse clientele, including veterans, pregnant women, adolescents and seniors. Daytop Village also works with individuals involved in the criminal justice system. The staff and programs are LGBTQ+ friendly and offer specialized LGBTQ+ therapy groups.
Housing Assistance
The organization also offers housing assistance. They have temporary shelters for unhoused single adults and families.
The program works in partnership with the US Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) and the NYC Department of Homeless Services (DHS). Individuals can apply for shelter at a DHS intake center.
Daytop Village is now renovating properties that will soon become permanently affordable housing. The housing will provide high quality apartments at low cost and is located in high rent areas of NYC.
