About Oakdale Recovery Center
When they opened their doors in 1975, Oakdale Recovery Center (then known as Addiction Treatment Center) was the only addiction treatment center in Western Wayne County. Since then, they’ve rebranded to Oakdale Recovery Center, moved locations to their current spot in Canton, Michigan, and helped thousands of people work through substance addiction.
Their services include medically monitored withdrawal management, also called detox, and medication assisted treatment.
Their comfortable location has space for ten adults, and they accept both men and women. They’ve intentionally designed the space to have the support of a hospital with the comfort of a home. They work closely with a nearby hospital to ensure your medical needs are attended to before and during your stay.
Once you’ve completed the detox process and are more stable, you can transition into their short-term residential care unit. They have space for 45 adults. This program is designed to prepare you for outpatient treatment by stabilizing any medical, social, or behavioral barriers to lower levels of care. You’ll receive the same 24/7 medical monitoring as the withdrawal management program, but with slightly more emphasis on your emotions and behaviors.
On top of three daily 90-minute group therapy sessions, you’ll also attend individual therapy sessions, partake in recovery-oriented activities, and work with a primary therapist to develop a discharge and aftercare plan.
Something cool that Oakdale Recovery Center uses is a computer-based version of cognitive behavioral therapy. Called Computer Based Training for Cognitive Behavioral Treatment (CBT4CBT), this program allows you to work through techniques and methods used in typical cognitive behavioral therapy at your own pace.
