Detox is an important first step in your substance use treatment journey. You need to rid your body of the toxic substances you’ve been using to enhance the effectiveness of your treatment. The facility has inpatient detox services for adult men and women. They offer medication assisted treatment (MAT) if appropriate. Some of the medications they use include methadone, buprenorphine, and naltrexone.
The detox unit is directed by a licensed physician, and you’ll have around the clock nursing care. While in the detox process, you’ll be seen by a licensed counselor and case manager. You’ll become acquainted with the 12 Step model of recovery and have access to daily 12 Step groups. The groups include Alcoholics Anonymous (AA) and Narcotics Anonymous (NA). Detox usually takes between 5-7 days but it may take longer depending on the types of substances and the length of time you’ve been using them.
After you’ve fully detoxed, you can then decide whether to stay in an inpatient rehab program or move to an outpatient program.
