Project COPE – Johnson Street
About Project COPE – Johnson Street
Project COPE is a women’s program that is a part of Bridgewell, an organization that provides an array of community and social support services in Massachusetts. Their goal is to help people live a safe, self-directed and productive life. Bridgewell supports people through community housing, outpatient treatment programs, and education and employment training.
The Project COPE facility provides a six-month residential program for women. This program serves women from diverse backgrounds who are struggling with substance use disorder. Pregnant and postpartum women can receive specialized services to support their recovery.
Trauma-informed Addiction Treatment
While this program doesn’t focus on detoxification, it offers a comprehensive addiction recovery curriculum. It’s a residential program that would be ideal for women to attend following a completed detox program. If it’s determined you need detoxification services, the organization may be able to refer you to a detox facility.
While undergoing treatment in the Project COPE program, you would engage in group and individual counseling, self-help meetings, vocational planning and recreational activities. The residents are referred to this program through local clinical stabilization services, hospitals, drug courts and the judicial system. Group and individual counseling sessions are trauma-informed.
Integrated Pregnancy And Postpartum Care
This program accepts women with substance use disorders who are pregnant or postpartum with their newborns. This service is integrated with the residential program and has the ability to accommodate four women.
This specialized program has care coordination to ensure mother and child are receiving all resources needed while they attend treatment for addiction. A former resident said this was the best program she ever did and the staff was very nice.
