About Serenity

Serenity at Summit New England provides clinical and holistic care to substance abuse residential treatment; something that we have become known for in all of our facilities in our program. Men and women 18 years and older who suffer from an addiction to drugs or alcohol are eligible for treatment at our Massachusetts treatment program. Our medical and clinical staff is trained in diagnosing and treating co-occurring disorders (anxiety, depression, etc.) throughout the duration of a client’s residential program.

The client’s inpatient residential treatment begins with a full clinical and medical evaluation performed within 24 hours after admission. The Serenity at Summit team tries to better understand the client’s physical and dietary background, patient history, mental health status and similar considerations during this first step. If we diagnose the client with a co-occurring disorder during the evaluation process, we will enhance his or her treatment roadmap accordingly.

The client may then undergo 5-7 days of medically supervised detoxification, which purges the body of toxins related to the drug or alcohol addiction. Our medical team aims to make this process as comfortable as possible, including managing withdrawal symptoms. Detox is just the first step in our comprehensive substance abuse rehab program in Massachusetts.
