About Spectrum Health Systems, Inc.
Spectrum Health Systems has supported Bay Staters for over five decades since 1969. They’re a longstanding provider of evidence-based substance use recovery and mental healthcare, with 140+ programs delivered in both community and institutional settings. Their care continuum cuts across inpatient detox and rehab, outpatient therapy and medication assisted treatment (MAT). Spectrum Health Systems provides MAT for opioid use issues across over 14 convenient outpatient clinics, including one at North Adams.
This clinic is located at Curran Highway in the Northern Berkshire region near the Hoosac Range. They’re just two miles north of Natural Bridge State Park, northwest of Windsor Lake, and also serve patients from Williamstown.
They accept Medicaid and Medicare alongside several private insurance plans. They even offer the income-based sliding fee scale discount to support the uninsured and underinsured.
Personalized Medication-Supported Recovery With Same-Day Admission
One appealing feature of the Spectrum Health Systems’ MAT program is that they offer same-day admission and support-walk-ins. This makes it easier for people to get help right when they need it, without long waits or complicated scheduling. You may even receive your first dosing same day if clinically appropriate.
Recovery begins with a detailed clinical assessment alongside medical examination. This helps the care team craft an individualized treatment plan. You’ll receive a personalized prescription of either methadone and Vivitrol after treatment planning. These meds help you manage painful withdrawal symptoms and physiological cravings.
You’ll then attend outpatient therapy groups alongside individual sessions to address underlying psychological issues. They team up with your family, helping them understand addiction and stay involved in your recovery. You’ll also get substance use education to understand addiction better and make healthier choices moving forward. Bringing therapy and meds together like this supports whole-person healing for the long term.

Detox Service Setting
-
Outpatient Detox
Outpatient detox gives you access to medically supervised withdrawal services while still allowing you to live at home. You’ll attend a clinic for treatment and monitoring. This flexible option is suitable for those with mild to moderate withdrawal symptoms who have strong support systems.
-
MAT
Medication assisted treatment combines medication and counseling to manage withdrawal and reduce cravings for opioid and alcohol addiction. Medications may include methadone, buprenorphine or naltrexone. MAT is tailored to your needs so you can actively participate in your treatment journey.
