Star Center
About Star Center
Star Center is an addiction treatment facility in Detroit, Michigan. Support is available here to adults aged 18 and older. Medicaid is accepted, along with various other major insurance plans. Sliding scale fees are also available to eligible individuals, making treatment affordable even without health insurance.
A First Stop in Recovery in Wayne County
This detox and treatment center is, for many, the first step on their journey to recovery. On arrival, all clients can expect to engage in thorough assessments, covering medical and drug history, as well as educational and criminal background checks. The team will also evaluate clients’ mental status to understand whether they might benefit from concurrent mental health support services. Further checks include medical exams, including urine samples and blood work.
If you’re already receiving medical care for other conditions, the team will coordinate with your primary doctor accordingly and refer you to specialized support as needed.
You’ll then receive a personalized care plan, including detox and treatment for narcotic addiction if applicable, along with methadone therapy services. With or without medications, you’ll receive relapse prevention and life skills development sessions as well as individual and group talk therapy for a rounded, holistic approach to care.
Experiential Therapy and Peer Driven Recovery
Peer recovery services also feature, along with methadone anonymous meetings, and arts and crafts group therapy. Specialized programming is also available to female clients. Transport assistance is available as needed, making this facility accessible.
The Gold Star Program
The center has a unique Gold Star Program which is exclusively available to individuals who are beneficiaries of the Healthy Michigan Plan or Medicaid. It’s a case management program, and falls under the umbrella of Opioid Health Home, which means that they’ll help you coordinate all aspects of your care and your life stability, like housing, employment, and other needs.
