About Victory House

Victory House is a residential recovery program in the Dorchester neighborhood of Boston, Massachusetts. You can access a supportive living environment to focus on healing from substance abuse and other life challenges.

They don’t provide medication assisted treatment (MAT) or detox. The organization may be able to refer you to a detox facility if necessary.

Compassionate Care for Special Populations

While they welcome anyone seeking addiction services, they provide targeted care for special populations. Established in 1975, they were one of the first to open their doors to people living with HIV/AIDS. Many of their clients struggle with substance use disorder as well as mental health concerns, HIV/AIDS, other chronic illnesses, or homelessness.

Long Term Options

They offer group and individual counseling, daily congregate meals, and case management. I like that they have long-term stays. Their program typically runs for 90 days, but you can extend care up to eight months.

This provides you with the flexibility to stay in treatment as long as you need. You’ll have plenty of time to gain and reinforce coping skills and start building a solid recovery foundation.

Holistic Activities for Healing

I also think it’s beneficial that they provide holistic activities. You can participate in practices to heal your mind, body and soul. They offer meditation and art therapy to help you find balance and reconnect with yourself.

You can also participate in sober recreational activities. You’ll benefit from connecting with peers on similar paths and developing a strong recovery network.
