About Ascension Brighton Center for Recovery

The Ascension Brighton Center for Recovery provides substance use disorder treatment in Brighton, Michigan. It’s right next to Lake Serenity, and they have a wide backyard for immersion in nature. Their center reinforces holistic healing, with wood accents and a home-like feel so it won’t feel like a medical center. Treatment is provided for males and females who are 18 years of age or older. What stood out to me is that they are open seven days a week.

Medical insurance is accepted, including Medicare. If you’re uninsured, you may be able to receive a self payment plan.

In order to be eligible for treatment, you must meet their criteria. You must have a history or a primary diagnosis of a substance use disorder or substance dependency. You also cannot have a psychiatric condition or medical condition that needs immediate care.

If you meet their criteria and are eligible for treatment, you will undergo an assessment. The assessment will focus on your history in reference to substances, medical and family. Once your treatment needs have been identified, then their care team and specialists will be able to personalize your treatment plan. They will also coordinate every part of your treatment based on your needs.

Their detox services will medically manage your withdrawals. By using medication assisted treatment (MAT), your cravings for substance will be reduced and your withdrawal symptoms will be eased. You’ll have access to their onsite chapel, meditation trail and garden. You’ll also attend inpatient or outpatient treatment after you complete detox.

They provide specialized programs. Their halfway house program will help you, if needed, find options for stable housing. I like that they have a women’s only recovery program. Women will be able to address their specific needs among other women. If you are a health professional, you’ll also be able to receive specialized treatment for individuals who work in healthcare. Other holistic therapies available are music, art and yoga therapy.
