About PAATHS Program

The PAATHS (Providing Access to Addictions Treatment, Hope, and Support) Program is an initiative of the Boston Public Health Commission, the public health authority for the City of Boston, Massachusetts. PAATHS serves individuals and families in the Greater Boston area who are seeking information about or access to substance use treatment.

PAATHS exists to streamline access to care. Think of it as a one-stop shop for information about drug abuse. PAATHS is adjacent to Boston Medical Center and a short distance away from Boston University Medical Campus in Boston. The location is a mile north of South Bay Center and two miles northeast of Franklin Park. You can visit them for assessment and referral support.

Assessment and Referral Support for Substance Use Treatment

PAATHS is a bridge between individuals seeking substance use care and treatment providers. PAATH staffers are well trained to provide comprehensive substance use assessments. Assessment involves a one-on-one chat to review your medical history and substance use patterns alongside your mental health status.

Referrals may be to providers or community partners offering medically supervised detox and inpatient rehabilitation, medication assisted treatment (MAT) and outpatient programs. It all depends on your assessed need. They can even connect you to overdose prevention and risk reduction services.

PAATHS offers high flexibility in service delivery. Contact them by phone or walk into their office. They serve everyone regardless of insurance status, with Spanish-speaking staff available to accommodate diverse linguistic and cultural needs. They even offer transportation support or assistance.
