About Gavin Foundation Inc

Gavin House is a six month residential recovery program for adult men in South Boston, Massachusetts and is operated by the nonprofit Gavin Foundation.

The program is licensed by the Massachusetts Department of Public Health and accepts Medicaid, private insurance, SAMHSA funding, and self-payment, with a sliding fee scale and financial aid options including grants and scholarships.

Detox Referrals and Programs

The house provides comprehensive residential care in a home like setting where men work together to rebuild their lives free from alcohol and drugs. The program is CARF accredited and combines evidence based practices with 12 step principles in a highly supportive peer community.

Specialized services include programming for men with hearing impairments and dedicated support for criminal justice clients transitioning back into the community.

Although the house does not offer detox or medication management they can refer clients to local treatment facilities that do. After the client is stabilized they can be considered for treatment in the Gavin House.

Residents participate in structured daily programming that includes trauma informed counseling, relapse prevention, anger management, and substance use assessments with ongoing mental health screening.

Life Skills and Community Reintegration Support

Employment or educational participation is required as part of treatment with comprehensive life skills training that teaches job readiness, communication, money management, and wellness. Gavin House also offers vocational training, career counseling, and parenting classes to support successful reintegration and sustained recovery beyond the program.
