About New Visions Center Residential Treatment Program

The New Visions Center Residential Treatment program was part of the Thrive Behavioral network. In 2022, Thrive discontinued all its substance use disorder programs, including the New Visions Center that was located in Alexandria, Minnesota.

The city is the seat of Douglas County and 70 miles northwest of St Cloud. While in an urban area, it is surrounded by lakes and outdoor recreational areas.

Outpatient & Residential Programs

When they were open, New Visions offered residential and outpatient chemical dependency treatment. The customized treatment for individuals and family members included those with disabilities.

The residential program’s length of stay depended on the individual’s needs and progress. They had several levels of care available, including crisis interventions for individuals with co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders and medication assisted treatment (MAT) and physical health assessment for each person admitted to the program.

Dual Diagnosis Treatment & Extended Care

Individuals with co-occurring disorders could stay up to 45 days as an inpatient, receiving education, medication management and family programming. They also offered extended care up to 90 days when you needed a slower treatment pace and longer care to achieve stabilization to manage your illness on an ongoing basis.

Outpatient services were also offered in Alexandria for adults, which were tailored to your strengths and challenges. Care could include education lectures, family sessions and individual or group therapy. New Visions had another location in Morris, where they also provided similar services for adolescents and DUI classes that met court requirements.
