Options Counseling Center

About Options Counseling Center
Options Counseling Center in Paterson, New Jersey, is an outpatient, intensive outpatient, and partial care treatment center for mental health and substance use disorders. It’s not far from Eastside Park and Garret Mountain Reservation. They accept Medicaid and other major insurances.
Medication Assisted Detoxification
Specialized treatment groups include men’s, women’s, and LGBTQ+ community members. The center offers outpatient detox through medication assisted treatment. These medications will control your withdrawal symptoms and urges.
Substance Use Therapy and Services
You’ll be required to also attend therapy sessions. Individual psychiatric sessions run 30 or 45 minutes. Outpatient group sessions provide therapy while you communicate and socialize with a group of your peers.
During therapy, you’ll learn how to prevent relapses, manage your anger, and how to effectively parent. If you need employment assistance you can receive vocational and educational training.
Partial Care Services Treatment
Partial Care Services is a day program and is commonly known as partial hospitalization. After we complete residential treatment we often need a more intensive outpatient treatment that keeps us in therapy during the day while returning home at night. This ensures an easier integration back into the community.
Intensive outpatient programs are available during the day or of the evening. This program normally follows the partial care services program but requires less hours during the day and less days during the week. Clients can still work, attend school, and fulfill family obligations in this level of treatment.
Family Codependency Therapy
Family codependency treatment and education is available as a family session and as a family group session where you will be able to discuss and relate with other families. Codependency normally causes enabling actions by a family member.
Sometimes the family member realizes what they are doing but in other cases, they might not be aware. Actions include denial of the loved one’s addiction problem, controlling your loved one’s actions, or covering for them when you know their actions are the result of substance use.
