Patton Sober Living Homes
About Patton Sober Living Homes
Patton Sober Living Homes is a halfway house organization in Dallas, Texas. Homes are provided for varying demographics, including young adults, those in the later stages of adulthood, as well as individuals struggling with concurrent mental health issues.
Private insurance plans are accepted. If you don’t have insurance that covers your program, they have self-pay options.
Holistic & Structured Sober Living
Support encompasses a range of different addiction issues. While substance abuse is the primary concern, it’s not uncommon for the facility to receive individuals who also have porn addiction, and addictions to technology and social media.
The structure here helps residents focus on their mind, body and spirit, while also engaging in a supportive community of peers. Group meetings are held thrice week under the auspices of counselors and members of the recovery community.
Residents can also expect to engage in weekly 1:1 counseling sessions as well as random drug testing at least once a week to keep tabs on sobriety. Breathalyzer tests occur daily.
All residents must attend a minimum of four 12-step meetings per week, and are encouraged to get stuck in with the local church and other spiritual enrichment activities. Meanwhile, the days here start with morning meditation from 9:30am, Monday through Friday.
What To Expect From The House
First, the fun stuff. An outdoor pool, a TV, and a billiards table. All residents also get a free membership to LA Fitness with the expectation that you try and get yourself to the gym at least three times per week between sessions. You can also enroll in nearby Richland College’s specialized track for sober home residents.
Yoga sessions are also offered three times per week, and you’re encouraged to attend at least one of these. It’s not to be pushy; it’s really a way to help you maintain a positive relationship with your body, while untangling all the stuff in your head throughout recovery.
