About Dallas Behavioral Healthcare Hospital

When you’re ready to begin your path to addiction recovery, the team at Dallas Behavioral Healthcare Hospital is always by the phone and ready to help. This psychiatric and addiction treatment hospital is located in DeSoto, Texas.

This facility has both inpatient and outpatient treatment for addiction but I’ll focus on their detox program. They have inpatient medical detox, where you’ll have medical staff keeping an eye on your health to make sure you’re safe and healthy throughout your withdrawal. They can also give you medications to ease the effects of the withdrawal.

In the course of your inpatient detox you’ll also have addiction treatments to help you begin your recovery journey. You’ll have group therapy and individual therapy. During this time they can also help you stabilize any mental health conditions you might have on top of your addiction.

Your therapy sessions will be an important part of your early recovery during your detox. The experienced professionals will help you address underlying issues that may contribute to your addiction like past trauma and unmanaged mental health conditions. They’ll also help you identify the patterns in your life that are contributing to your substance use and find ways to change those patterns.

What’s also helpful about this detox center is that they have a full continuum of care. So after your detox, you can transition into their partial hospitalization program for example or their intensive outpatient program depending on the level of care you need.

I wasn’t heartened by the client reviews for this facility, to be honest. Several clients had serious complaints about negligence that led to health issues for their loved ones and a lot of clients also cite that they had trouble getting in contact with the staff here. I will note that a lot of the negative reviews were regarding the kids’ inpatient unit so the adult detox treatment may not have as many of these problems.
