About Emerson Hospital Behavioral Health

Emerson Hospital Behavioral Health is a hospital-based addiction treatment center in Concord, Massachusetts, offering comprehensive care for adults with substance use and co-occurring mental health disorders. Emerson delivers evidence based care integrated with the resources of a full service community hospital.

Detox and Outpatient Programs

Treatment often begins with medically monitored detox through the inpatient unit or Emergency Department, where clients stabilize under 24-hour medical supervision before transitioning to the next level of care.

Adults can then step into partial hospitalization or the half-day intensive outpatient program, which offers structured group and individual therapy, motivational interviewing, and case management.

Throughout treatment, clients engage in evidence-based therapies such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Dialectical Behavior Therapy, along with wellness activities, medication management, and relapse prevention planning.

The program addresses opioid addiction, alcohol use, chronic relapse, and dual diagnosis, with introductions to SMART Recovery and Alcoholics Anonymous to support long-term coping and community reintegration.
