About GenPsych Livingston
GenPsych is a substance use recovery and mental health care network that’s been serving patients across New Jersey since 2005. They foster physical and emotional wellbeing via the full range of outpatient care from standard to intensive outpatient (IOP) and partial hospitalization (PHP) programs. It’s based in Livingston, New Jersey.
They deliver specialized care for children ages 8-8 so they can overcome emotional hurdles and build resilience. They also provide high-quality and empowering recovery solutions for adults facing substance use disorders including those navigating co-occurring mental health challenges. From cognitive behavioral techniques (CBT) and motivational interviewing (MI) to medication assisted treatment (MAT), GenPsych’s core identity is rooted in evidence-based care.
This facility is located south of the Livingston Historical Society and five miles northwest of Eagle Rock Reservation. They even offer a highly effective eating disorders track for adults and adolescents using education and proven techniques like CBT to achieve lasting results. We love that they offer transportation support to remove barriers to care. Most past clients expressed deep satisfaction with the support and care provided by this clinic’s staff.
Evidence-Based and Flexible Recovery for Adults
During intake, you’ll undergo psychiatric and substance use assessments to determine whether IOP or PHP is the best fit for you. IOP is less structured and convenient with scheduling tailored to accommodate your family and daily life demands. Both programs involve 8-12 weeks of group therapy and education sessions, focusing on reducing relapse risk through strong coping skills and supportive peer connections.
Your care team may use proven methods like CBT and MI to guide your healing and support meaningful change. They may also prescribe Suboxone or Vivitrol through MAT to curb cravings and ease withdrawal symptoms. The program tackles underlying or co-occurring mental health issues via tailored psychiatric support including psychotherapy and medication management.
Specialized Children and Adolescent Support
GenPsych’s tailored care for children and adults tackles behavioral issues like anxiety, mood disorders and interpersonal conflicts via structured but flexible care. Teens are supported in navigating academic and family issues through evidence-based care like CBT. They even offer the unique Wellness Recovery Action Planning (WRAP) to help adolescents take control of their recovery and build personalized strategies for wellness.
To help patients stay on track academically, day program participants receive educational support through Silvergate Prep. They’re equipped with tools to better manage peer pressure and improve self-esteem and socialization via music and art therapy alongside recreational and relaxation techniques.

They may include several components to help you maintain sobriety including therapy, community support groups and relapse prevention strategies. This gives you a network of resources as you reintegrate into your daily life.
