About Hopper House

Hopper House is a faith based sober living program in San Angelo, Texas offering structured transitional housing for adults recovering from alcohol and drug addiction.

The program begins with a 17-day intake period focused on honesty, open mindedness and willingness, followed by placement into a full six month recovery program or other housing options.

Referrals to detox may or may not be possible.

Clients and alumni highlight the lasting impact of the 12 step principles taught here with many celebrating years and even decades of sobriety.

What kind of recovery support does Hopper House offer?

Hopper House provides peer supported transitional sober living with a structured 12 step foundation.

Residents participate in group discussions, recovery program study, one on one step work and ministry activities, all at no cost for the 12 step recovery work itself.

After the initial intake evaluation, participants can continue into the six month program, transition to efficiency apartments or receive referrals to other appropriate housing.

Who can get help here?

The program serves adults recovering from alcohol and drug addiction in a non-denominational, faith-based setting. Men are the primary population, though a similar but more limited program is available for women.

What does the intake process look like?

New residents spend 17 business days in the rent-free “HOW Building” dormitory, focusing on the principles of Honesty, Open Mindedness and Willingness.

After this structured intake period, staff evaluate each individual and recommend the best next step, whether that’s continuing in the full program or transitioning to another housing option.
