Managed Care Walker Houses
About Managed Care Walker Houses
The Guardian Walker House is near the downtown section of Lubbock, Texas. It’s a residential substance abuse treatment center that exclusively serves women. The program accepts voluntary admission as well as those who are ordered or committed to care. This program may include detox services, but they may refer you to an outside detox service before admission if your condition is acute.
This program includes direct family involvement in counseling and other recovery activities. This inclusion helps improve their ability to support you in sobriety and promotes their own healing.
Recovery Groups
Recovery groups like AA/NA are included in treatment alongside education and counseling. What I find interesting is that these include meetings onsite and in the Lubbock community. The former is more convenient, but the latter is a great way to get involved in the greater community and meet and connect with more locals in recovery.
Parenting Classes
Lots of things take a backseat to drug use when you’re in the throes of addiction. For some, this sadly includes their responsibilities and roles as parents. But participating in parenting classes while in treatment can not only help you be a better parent but will also show you how to balance parenthood with ongoing sobriety so that neither one suffers.
