They’re northwest of the local fire museum and the Somerset County Courthouse Green in Somerville, New Jersey. They’ve supported residents for over 50 years. The facility offers intensive outpatient care (IOP) and medication assisted treatment (MAT). These services are available at no cost for HIV+ patients with co-occurring substance misuse.
Their compassionate HIV/AIDS care includes personalized counseling that empowers clients to maintain dignity. Support groups and HIV case management ranges from medical care and housing or food to ongoing emotional needs. The facility delivers substance use prevention and is a Narcan distribution site to prevent opioid overdose deaths.
They also provide specialized psychiatric services and medication management. This supports patients with substance use disorders or HIV who face co-occurring or underlying mental health challenges. Medication-Supported Opioid Recovery & Structured Healing
Somerset Treatment Services offers hospital-based MAT involving personalized prescriptions of methadone or Suboxone to ease withdrawal and cravings. Clients receive structured therapy via IOP to address underlying emotional issues and build strong coping skills to prevent relapse.
This program integrates lab work and HIV/ Hepatitis C screenings to support early detection and ensure timely medical intervention. Psychiatric support is also provided as part of the broader services.
What’s particularly unique about this facility is their three distinct IOPs tailored to suit the recovery needs of different clients. The Pathway to Parenting IOP is for women at risk of involvement with DCP&P. There’s also a Methadone IOP for those with opioid dependence. Their standard IOP features groups for anger management, relapse prevention and women-specific topics.

Outpatient
In outpatient therapy, you’ll attend therapy sessions several times each week while living at home. This is ideal if you have a strong support system and a lower risk of relapse. Outpatient treatment offers flexibility to maintain work, school or family obligations.
Detox Service Setting

Outpatient detox gives you access to medically supervised withdrawal services while still allowing you to live at home. You’ll attend a clinic for treatment and monitoring. This flexible option is suitable for those with mild to moderate withdrawal symptoms who have strong support systems.

MAT
Medication assisted treatment combines medication and counseling to manage withdrawal and reduce cravings for opioid and alcohol addiction. Medications may include methadone, buprenorphine or naltrexone. MAT is tailored to your needs so you can actively participate in your treatment journey.
