About Charak Center for Health and Wellness Stow
The Charak Center for Health and Wellness is accredited by The Joint Commission for excellence. They have multiple clinics with a location in a quiet corner of Stow, Ohio. They offer mental health and substance use services including medication-assisted treatment. Their approach focuses on giving hope and solutions to folks dealing with addiction, depressions, PTSD, ADD and other mental illnesses.
The Stow clinic also offers telehealth therapy, case management and pharmacy services.
Their treatment of opioids uses Suboxone and Vivitrol. First, clients will have a diagnostic assessment and move to the induction phase of treatment. This phase lasts for five days and you’ll be monitored to see how well your body tolerates the medication. Then, you’ll move to the intensive outpatient program (IOP) and continue with your medication protocol. Subxone is a daily medication while Vivitrol is a monthly dose. Your provider will discuss both options with you to choose the best one for your needs.
The IOP includes group therapy three times a week as well as individual counseling sessions. Charak Center also offers a case management program. This service helps you get rid of barriers in systems. For example, they can link you to a community resource, help you get a doctor’s appointment, help you with food, housing, transportation and much more. Case managers will help you set goals and help you work towards them.
Best of all, case management is available at all times when you need support, on and off the site. If unwinding in the great outdoors are appealing, Mud Brook and Wyoga Lake aren’t too far away, and there are plenty of parks nearby.
The Charak Center runs a virtual mental wellness program for teens called Karma. All teens are welcome even if they haven’t been diagnosed with a mental health condition. Youth aged 15-17 can attend a 6-part series on Zoom to learn about problem solving, coping skills and stress management, decision making and more.
