About Cincinnati Challenge Ranch
Cincinnati Challenge Ranch (CCR) is a residential substance use treatment center for adult men guided by faith and a relational way of life. They do not offer detox or medication assisted treatment, and all services are grounded in Christian values and biblical principles. They are affiliated with Adult and Teen Challenge USA and are located in Milford, Ohio.
Insurance is not billed here, and there is a $350 intake fee on your first day. After that, a $900 fee is assessed each month. I was impressed that no one is turned away simply for the inability to pay.
Life at the Ranch
The ranch sits on over 130 acres and can accommodate 21 men at a time. The program operates in two phases. The first phase is 90 days, and then you’ll need to reapply for the second phase, which is also 90 days.
While there, you’ll engage in work therapy and classroom time, plus receive individual mentoring. Clients work in the horse stables and also learn carpentry, agriculture and home and equipment maintenance. Those without a GED are required to complete tutoring and testing.
Clermont County Resources
Milford is located just outside Cincinnati in Clermont County. Downtown Milford offers a small town atmosphere with city fairs, shops and riverfront areas. Nature lovers enjoy the Little Miami Bike Trail and East Fork State Park, which offer hiking, fishing, boating and other outdoor activities.
Christian Brotherhood is Instrumental
Former clients say that their lives have been changed forever by their experience at CCR. They note that they found peace and stability through Jesus Christ and made dramatic, positive life changes as a result. One client said, “Some of my fondest memories include the relational aspect of Christian brotherhood and a much needed disciplined schedule and work ethic I sorely needed in my life.”
