Sierra Vista Hospital provides acute behavioral health and chemical dependency services to adults and adolescents who are in immediate crisis. Every person that comes to the hospital seeking help is given the utmost dignity, respect and quality of care.

Inpatient and outpatient programs are designed to address patients’ primary symptoms through individualized treatment plans that emphasize skill building and coping mechanisms. Medication management may be a part of treatment if needed.

The level of care a patient is admitted to is determined by a free and confidential assessment. After treatment, the staff help patients step down to less intensive levels of care to maintain their progress and reduce the risk of relapse.

Policies

For those who attend inpatient treatment, there are certain items that are prohibited. These include:

• Shoelaces, drawstring pants and drawstring hoodies (strings will be removed)
• Any clothing with inappropriate logos or designs
• Boots of any kind
• Sharp objects including picture frames, knives, nail clippers, tweezers, sewing needles, wire or metal bound notebooks and glass vases
• Nail polish and remover
• Lighters, matches and lighter fluid
• Disposable razors
• Money over $20
• Credit cards and checkbooks
• Pillows and bed linens
• Hangers
• No metal cases, containers or objects
• Hair dryers (each unit will provide a hair dryer)
• Cell phones
• Curling irons
• Alcohol or alcohol-based products
• Outside food and drinks
• Controlled medications
• Personal electronic devices
