About Kaiser Clinic

The Kaiser Permanente Point Loma Medical Offices – Kenyon. located in San Diego, California offers addiction medicine, psychiatry, and behavioral health care.

They provide outpatient detox and medication assisted treatment for adults.

Outpatient detox is an ideal option for those who have a safe and sober environment to detox and want to remain at home during treatment.

Clients will attend the medical office for treatment and return to their usual schedules afterward. Treatment may include counseling as well as MAT.

MAT is a medication management program that gives individuals non-addictive drugs to help them break their addiction to substances like alcohol and opioids. These medications relieve withdrawal symptoms and cravings while also decreasing the risk for overdose and relapse.

Medical providers will prescribe or administer FDA-approved medications such as methadone, buprenorphine, or naltrexone (Vivitrol) depending on each client’s needs. MAT can give those struggling with addiction the best chance of reaching and maintaining recovery.

The medical staff here may refer clients to more structured drug rehab treatment such as inpatient detox or residential treatment when necessary.

This facility accepts the following health insurance plans: Exclusive Provider Organization (EPO), HMO, Medi-Cal Managed Care, Point-of-Service Plan (POS) and Senior Advantage. Contact your provider to verify coverage as out of network benefits can vary.

Having struggled with her mental health, Gemma has spent much of her writing career focused on topics surrounding behavioral health and stigmatized health issues, such as eating disorders, depression, obesity, and sexually transmitted diseases. It was a natural step to write about addiction, with her background in Biology and Research Science playing a key role in understanding chemical dependency as a disease. By writing about drug rehabilitation in an accessible and compassionate way, she hopes more people will feel encouraged to seek help.
