Kaiser Permanente Medical Center Chemical Dependency Recovery Program is an outpatient addiction treatment provider in San Francisco, California serving Kaiser members across the region. The program offers medical detoxification and partial hospitalization day treatment, intensive outpatient and outpatient services and continuing care with flexible scheduling to fit work and family life.
With more than twenty five years of experience and eighty support groups serving over two thousand patients annually, the program is known for integrating addiction medicine with coordinated medical care through the Kaiser health system.
What addiction treatment programs are available?
The Chemical Dependency Recovery Program provides outpatient medical detox, partial hospitalization day treatment and intensive outpatient treatment, regular outpatient counseling and continuing care. Treatment includes group therapy, individual and family therapy.
Medication assisted treatment is available with buprenorphine, naltrexone, Vivitrol, and other medications with evidence based approaches like cognitive behavioral therapy and dialectical behavior therapy, motivational interviewing and trauma counseling.
Who can get help at this program?
The program serves Kaiser members including adults and adolescents, women and men, seniors and LGBTQ+ individuals with substance use disorders or co-occurring mental health concerns.
Culturally responsive programming includes specialized groups like the Black Recovery Collective for African Americans and a Gender and Sexual Minority Group for LGBTQ+ clients. Spanish language services are also available.
Where is it located and when is it open?
The program is located in San Francisco’s Fillmore District near Japantown and Alamo Square Park. Day treatment operates every day of the year with hours Monday through Thursday from 7:30 AM to 8:30 PM.
Does Kaiser take my insurance?
The program accepts Kaiser Permanente health plan coverage including Medicare and Medi Cal for members. Payment is based on member benefits. Self pay or financing options may be available.
