About Oaks of Hope

Oaks of Hope was a residential addiction and dual diagnosis treatment center that specialized in addressing the links between mental health concerns and substance abuse. They did this through MAT detoxification and residential treatment, with a focus on creating a safe and comfortable healing environment. They were accredited by The Joint Commission.

Lighting A Creative Spark

Therapy can take many forms beyond sitting down and talking to a counselor for weekly sessions. One such option offered was art therapy, a hands on approach that explores communication through creative expression. It can take on many forms, from drawing and painting to music and crafts, and part of the reason why it works is that it focuses the mind and body on one task.

Sometimes, clients who found it difficult to express themselves could use their art as an outlet to break down that barrier.

Healing the Physical and Mental

While the behavioral health component of substance use disorder is something you’ll thoroughly explore in therapy, there’s still a need to address your physical health to fully support your addiction recovery. That’s why this program included physical activities and nutritious meals. You could enjoy a reduced risk of relapse when you improved both the physical and mental aspects of your health.
