About Redwood Family Center
Redwood Family Center is a faith-based nonprofit organization in Modesto, California. They provide medical detox, substance abuse treatment, and long term aftercare options for mothers and women experiencing homelessness. They serve women in Stanislaus and San Joaquin County, as well as surrounding regions. All their clients have little or no income.
Their detox program provides a safe and comfortable environment to reach stabilization before transitioning to another level of care. You can access ongoing support and guidance along with early recovery services, 12 Step meetings, individual counseling and initial discharge planning.
Specialized Women’s Care
Their gender specific approach really stood out. You can receive compassionate care from professionals who understand the unique effects of gender on addiction and receptiveness to treatment. They provide a supportive residential atmosphere with other women in recovery. They even offer tailored services for your children and allow them to live on campus throughout your journey.
Therapeutic Recreation
Another great feature that caught my eye was their recreational groups. They help establish healthy leisure activities to improve your independence, quality of life and overall treatment experience. Breathing groups, arts and crafts, walking groups, games and community outings are available. These activities can encourage holistic healing and provide new sober experiences to support your journey.
Family Groups
I also like that they offer a weekly family group. You and your loved ones can participate in multifamily groups with interactive exercises and psychoeducational information. You’ll focus on family roles and relapse prevention. They also encourage weekly family and support system visitation. You’ll benefit from strengthening your family dynamic and rebuilding relationships.
Levels of Care
-
Inpatient
Inpatient and residential programs provide round-the-clock medical and emotional support as you live at the treatment facility. This level of care may be recommended if you have severe addictions or mental health conditions since it removes outside distractions and allows you to focus solely on therapy.
-
Outpatient
In outpatient therapy, you’ll attend therapy sessions several times each week while living at home. This is ideal if you have a strong support system and a lower risk of relapse. Outpatient treatment offers flexibility to maintain work, school or family obligations.
Detox Service Setting
-
Inpatient Detox
Inpatient detox occurs in a dedicated treatment facility. You’ll live there around the clock and receive intensive medical support and supervision to help manage your withdrawal symptoms. It is suitable for individuals with moderate to severe addictions as it ensures a stable detox environment.
-
Outpatient Detox
Outpatient detox gives you access to medically supervised withdrawal services while still allowing you to live at home. You’ll attend a clinic for treatment and monitoring. This flexible option is suitable for those with mild to moderate withdrawal symptoms who have strong support systems.
Programs
-
Alcohol Detox
Alcohol detox programs offer medical support to help individuals withdraw safely from alcohol. Your care team may use medications to ease your symptoms and provide medical monitoring to address complications.
-
Drug Detox
Drug detox programs support individuals who are withdrawing from addictive substances like cocaine and heroin. Medical support helps you manage symptoms in a controlled and safe environment so you can achieve initial sobriety.
