About Turning Point of Central California
Only men are admitted to Turning Point of Central California, a residential drug treatment facility in Bakersfield. The program takes adult men on active parole supervision and private clients.
You get into the reentry program through a referral from the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation or from another agency.
If you’re in the reentry program, electronic monitoring is mandatory.
90 to 180 Day Drug Treatment
The stay in the residential program at Turning Point in Bakersfield lasts 90 to 180 days, and the person lives on the campus for that stretch of intensive drug treatment.
Cognitive behavioral therapy is part of counseling in the residential program, and self-help services are included in reentry.
Employment, education, family reunification, mental health care, substance use disorder treatment and housing are provided or arranged as reentry links.
The State Department of Health Care Services licenses the program.
Operations run under a contract with the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation, and private clients are accepted in addition to that contract.
