About Berkeley Addiction Treatment Services
Berkeley Addiction Treatment Services (BATS) is a nonprofit opioid treatment program for adults in Berkeley, California. The program takes a holistic, harm-reduction approach that addresses addiction alongside housing, employment, and health needs.
Convenient Withdrawal Services
Clients begin with a thorough assessment to determine the right level of care. They offer outpatient detox that allows clients to continue with work, family or school obligations.
The center offers medication assisted treatment to help offset withdrawal symptoms and reduce cravings so guests can remain safe and comfortable while focusing on recovery.
Continued Care
Throughout treatment, clients participate in individual counseling and group therapy designed to uncover the root causes of addiction and develop practical coping tools. BATS also provides harm reduction services, naloxone and overdose education, HIV/AIDS counseling, case management, employment support and referrals to outside programs when additional care is needed.
These services help guests have ongoing recovery assistance and a strong foundation for independence after leaving treatment. Case managers can access transportation, healthcare and housing for clients to remove barriers that may prevent continued sobriety.
They work with numerous healthcare plans and offer financing for underinsured guests.
