About Fort Help Mission Inc

Rooted in the heart of California’s San Francisco County, Fort Help Mission Inc stands as a trusted ally in recovery for adults facing opioid use challenges. Their high-quality medication-assisted treatment (MAT) empowers individuals throughout the County to break free from opioid dependency and build a life they and their loved ones can be proud of. They’re strategically located on Capp Street in San Francisco’s vibrant Mission District, adjacent to the Girls Club and just east of both the Victoria Theatre and Mission Dolores Park.

They’re an affiliate of American Health Services, an integrated medical and opioid use disorder care provider serving residents of Southern and Northern California. Fort Help Mission Inc is run by a dedicated team of experts who work to create a warm, welcoming and supportive environment for everyone who walks through their doors.

These experts deliver high-quality care that promotes long-term sobriety and abstinence. The insurance policies accepted include Medicaid and Medicare.

Methadone Maintenance Treatment For Opioid Recovery

Fort Help Mission Inc is essentially a methadone maintenance clinic. When you seek care here, you’ll be prescribed methadone through MAT as part of a personalized care plan developed after a thorough intake assessment. Methadone is an FDA-approved medication that helps reduce opioid cravings and withdrawal symptoms, making recovery more manageable and supporting long-term stability.

You’ll then attend therapy to develop robust coping skills, tackle underlying emotional issues and strengthen relapse prevention strategies for sustained abstinence. These providers can connect you with community resources to address essential needs like housing, employment, transportation and medical care.

Flexible and Convenient Care

They accept walk-ins to provide prompt and immediate support when it matters most. I think it’s also great that they offer weekend and holiday availability as this enhances flexibility and convenience, especially for people with tight schedules.

I love that they offer bilingual services in English and Spanish, as this ensures people from diverse backgrounds can be supported. One client shared, “Love this clinic the doctor is amazing and ethical, the counselors front desk and management are as well, good souls people…”

Detox Service Setting

  • Outpatient Detox

Outpatient detox gives you access to medically supervised withdrawal services while still allowing you to live at home. You’ll attend a clinic for treatment and monitoring. This flexible option is suitable for those with mild to moderate withdrawal symptoms who have strong support systems.

  • MAT

Medication assisted treatment combines medication and counseling to manage withdrawal and reduce cravings for opioid and alcohol addiction. Medications may include methadone, buprenorphine or naltrexone. MAT is tailored to your needs so you can actively participate in your treatment journey.
