About Axis Community Health

Axis Community Health is a primary health treatment center with an outpatient addiction recovery department for adults, teens, children, and families. They’re located in Pleasanton, California. Pleasanton is sometimes called the “Birthplace of the Cowboy.” Whether this is your first time in recovery or not your first rodeo, they are committed to your wellbeing.

You’ll get solo counseling, group therapy and addiction medication. Medication assisted treatment services are typically for adults, though they offer healthcare and behavioral health counseling for all ages. They don’t offer methadone, though. Suboxone is their main mode of treatment.

What I like about them is that they treat substance use and mental health disorders at the same time. The two are often closely linked and addressing them both can bring healing and relief sooner. You may be experiencing depression, anxiety or trauma-related stress. They’ll assess you carefully to make sure they know what you need treatment for.

An important part of recovery is creating a new life filled with activities you love and people who’ve got your back. If you’re into recreational therapy, Pleasanton has some fun things for you to try like paddle boating in the Shadow Cliffs Regional Recreation Area, or walking through the culturally rich Old Town district. If you enjoy golf you can take advantage of one of the exquisite golf courses the town has to offer.

Medicare and Medi-Cal are accepted. They also have a sliding scale for those who need financial assistance.
