About MHS South County Center for Change Treatment and Testing Program

Mental Health Systems (MHS) TURN Behavioral Health Services is a justice system involved substance use disorder (SUD) treatment program. The program is located in Chula Vista, California, and it’s designed to help individuals achieve a substance free and productive life without further involvement in the criminal justice system.

They’re the main treatment provider for San Diego’s Adult Drug Court. The program treats young adults (18-21) and adults. Clients can pay for treatment with private insurance, Medicaid, and Medicare.

They offer a sliding scale fee schedule for uninsured clients. For clients who need detox, they’ll connect you to the right program first.

Chula Vista Addiction Treatment Program

Chula Vista is 15 miles north of the Mexican border in San Diego County. The treatment facility is conveniently accessed from I-5 and is about three miles from Chula Vista Bayfront Park.

The park offers a walking path with beautiful views of San Diego Bay and the Coronado Bay Bridge. Clients can take advantage of the serene environment and work on their treatment plan between therapy sessions.

The intensive outpatient program (IOP) gives clients a structured treatment program while allowing them to live at home. Clients attend 9-20 hours of treatment spread through multiple sessions throughout the week. The regular outpatient program offers flexible scheduling with 1-3 hours of weekly programming.

Targeted Aftercare Support

The programs treat men and women and welcome those with difficult backgrounds, including domestic violence and sexual abuse. Many of the clients come from criminal justice referrals.

The program offers a robust and targeted aftercare program to assist clients as they strive to move forward in sobriety. Additionally, they help clients through career counseling and sober living arrangements. Stable housing and employment are key for many people to maintain their sobriety.
