MPI is the oldest hospital-based treatment program in the San Francisco Bay Area. Founded in 1979, MPI has treated over 15,000 patients and provided community-wide chemical dependency services to physicians, industry and the community.

Each level of care is supported by comprehensive family and continuing care program services and all levels are further enhanced by the participation of members in the extensive MPI Alumni Association.
