About Vista Hill Foundation
Vista Hill in San Diego, California, is a nonprofit organization that provides treatment for mental illness, substance use disorders and intellectual and developmental disabilities. Known as a dynamic social service organization, they were founded in 1957.
Substance Use Treatment for Youth
Eligible youth between the ages of 12 and 18 years are referred by their probation officer. Treatment cost is covered by the county of San Diego’s probation department. Requirements are fulfilled when youth are producing clean drug tests, attending probation and case manager appointments and have no probation violations.
Recovery Tools for Teens
The Bridges Program offers services for teens who exercise poor judgement, are risk takers, struggle with performance in school and have family problems that have led to substance use. The program offers individual, group and family therapy and education.
Group therapy is gender specific. Teens learn to enjoy sober activities through Live Well services. Drug testing ensures the teens are staying clean.
Substance Use Programs for Adults
The dependency drug court substance use disorder coordination program provides referrals to treatment facilities where the parents are involved with child welfare services. Parents enrolled in the Dependency Drug Court Level II program are provided case management and peer support services.
If you need detox services, the center can refer you to a treatment facility that provides this. Their emergency rooms and inpatient detox facilities treat those who will present the most dangerous withdrawals, while the outpatient centers can provide outpatient detox for others.
