About Volunteers of America (VOA) Volunteers of America/Detox
The Volunteers of America or VOA is a faith based national nonprofit that provides comprehensive social services to vulnerable populations. Services include mental health and addiction treatment as well as affordable housing. The organization has programs in 47 states, as well as the District of Columbia and Puerto Rico, including this location in San Diego, California.
Medications to Support Healthy Withdrawal
The San Diego facility focuses on substance use disorder outpatient services, including medication assisted treatment or MAT for detox and recovery. The organization accepts insurance, including Medicaid, for some of its programs. The treatment center is conveniently located off I-8, close to I-15, and only seven miles from downtown San Diego.
Job Readiness and Education
It’s not uncommon for individuals with SUD to have obstacles with full employment. As you move toward recovery, the program includes job training, education, and life skills development. The staff will connect you to community resources and individual services based on your needs.
Housing Support
Housing is another issue for many people dealing with mental health and addiction issues. The team will work with you to identify safe, accessible and affordable housing as you transition from treatment to recovery. Case managers will monitor your treatment plan and progress and connect you to other community supportive services, including vocational, social and rehabilitative services.
